Kirron Kher was born on June 14, 1955, in Punjab, India. He is an Indian politician and actress who works in the Bollywood film industry.Kirron Kher rose to prominence as the most popular and well-paid actress.She began her acting career in 1983 with the Punjabi movie Aasra Pyar Da and her Hindi debut, Pestonjee. 

Kirron Kher is best known for her work in films, including Sardari Begum, Bariwali, Khamosh Pani, Fanaa, I See You, Just Married, Om Shanti Om, Singh Is Kinng, Dostana, Kurbaan, Action Replay, Ajab Gazabb Love, Khoobsurat, etc. He has received two National Film Awards and the Lux Style Award for Best Actress.

Kirron Kher was born in Chandigarh, India, to Thakhar Singh Sandhu and Diljit Kaur. She has completed her graduation in theatre from Punjab University. Kirron Kher was married to Gautam Berry, who divorced him, and then he married actor Anupam Kher in 1985.

Kirron Kher has been involved with non-profit movements such as Laadli (a campaign against female infanticide) and Roko Cancer (a campaign to raise awareness of cancer). She joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2009. She campaigned for the party across the country during the elections, including in Chandigarh for the 2011 municipal corporation elections. 

She has been a vocal admirer of the BJP\’s prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, since long before his candidacy was announced. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced her as its Lok Sabha candidate from Chandigarh in the 2014 General Elections.

Subsequently, in May 2014, she won the seat with 1,91,362 votes, defeating sitting MP and Congress leader Pawan Bansal, who received 1,21,720 votes, while AAP\’s Gul Panag came in third with 1,08,679 votes.

As a Member of Parliament from Chandigarh and having connections with the film industry, Kirron promised a film city for Chandigarh. After winning the seat, she said that she had difficulty acquiring land in Chandigarh. However, her proposal was accepted by the Chandigarh Administration, and the film city is now proposed to be set up in Sarangpur, Chandigarh.

Kirron Kher, a BJP candidate, won the 2019 Indian general election in the Chandigarh constituency by a margin of 46,970 votes.
